U16 GIRLS: LEICESTER FOREST EAST

On Sunday 26th March the U16 girls faced an opposition of Leicester Forest East and came out on top. Though Leicester Forest fought tooth and nail all game, Tamworth dominated with a final score of 67-17.

Tamworth’s game in the first half was dominant and their attacks were continuous, meaning that all of the girls were able to work together to earn an end of half score of 41-0. Tries were achieved through all means: passing out wide, breaking the line and executing set play/moves. The predominant amount of time was spent in the opposition’s half, providing more opportunity for attack. Scorers for the half were Millie, Poppy, Katie, Izzy W, Ayala and Martha (2). Amelia converted three conversions.

Tamworth switched up their team for the second half; providing an opportunity for new positions to be tried and increased game time for newer players, who are all progressing well, but it meant that the half was a more even contest. Tries were credited to Martha, Ashton, Ellie and Grace whilst Amelia converted three kicks. Leicester Forest scored 17 points in the form of three tries and one conversion.

Dames of the game were Millie for the forwards and Martha for the backs. Millie was constantly jackling the ball and gifting the team opportunities to strike which Martha capitalised on with numerous line-breaking runs.
