A couple of weeks ago 3 fantastic Tamworth RUFC women took time to introduce a group of young girls who attend Rainbows and Brownies to the sport of rugby, this is all part of a national partnership that England RFU are deploying in conjunction with Girlguiding, with the introduction of a 'Love Rugby' badge the girls can earn!

Thanks to Shelly Ashbolt (Ladies Club Captain), Kim Dobson (Schools Liasson Lead), Lucie Grice (Women's 1XV player) who spoke to the groups about rugby, the women's world cup and listened to what the girls had already learnt about the 'RED ROSES', this was followed by some fun rugby themed exercises, fun and games.

As part of earning their badges the Rainbows and Brownies had spent time designing a shirt that captured their love of Rainbows, a sample of these designs is shown. The designs were shared with TRUFC kit provider (AKUIMA) who agreed to take some of the girls concepts and 'bring them to life' with actual design layouts, thank you AKUMA!

The evening ended with Shelly presenting the girls with their well earned 'Love Rugby' badges - well done girls!

A really positive evening had by all, introducing a future generation to rugby and hopefully helping inspire a future generation to support the RED ROSES (or even get involved in rugby themselves).
