U16 Girls vs Market Bosworth (National Cup)

The Pages Keep Turning – And This Story Is Only Getting Better

Final Score: Market Bosworth 55, Tamworth 0.

Rising to the Occasion:
With injuries, illness, and late sickness disrupting the squad before kick-off, Tamworth arrived at Market Bosworth knowing they were up against it from the start. But what followed was one of the most impressive displays of heart, resilience, and pure enjoyment of rugby that the girls have shown all season.

Despite being short on numbers and with many players asked to step into unfamiliar positions, the team rose to the challenge. Starting with only 14 players and losing a couple early on meant the contest was effectively over fairly early, however the girls showed great character and played through.

Coach Michelle described it perfectly:
“I’ve never seen the girls play so well… they rose to the occasion and had fun with it.”

And that is the true story of the day.

Character in Every Moment:
The effort, the attitude, the teamwork — it was all there. The girls tackled hard, carried bravely, communicated well, and backed each other throughout. When they focused, they broke through the defensive line with confidence, and several phases of play showed how far they’ve come since the last time they met Market Bosworth.

It was a performance that showed growth, belief, and progression — and with a full squad and substitutes, they would absolutely have given the opposition a contest.

Dames of the Game:
Forwards: Bella – Outstanding throughout. Big tackles, strong carries, and excellent work at the breakdown. A complete shift.

Backs: Grace Cook – Tireless effort from start to finish. Try-saving tackles, endless work rate, and a huge presence in defence. Fully deserved.

A rest from training on Tuesday night, back to training on Friday.

Post-Match Reflections:
The scoreboard won’t tell the story, but their performance absolutely will.

This team is still writing its story, and the latest chapter shows courage, progress, and a group of players who refuse to give up. They adapted, they worked, they supported each other, and they played with smiles despite the challenges.

The pages keep turning, the story keeps improving, and there are plenty of chapters still to come.
