On Sunday the 9th of March, the Tamworth girls played a game at home against Cheltenham North. The final score was 17-39 to Cheltenham.
The first half was well contested and produced a close game, with both teams only scoring one converted try each within the allotted thirty five minutes, to bring the score to an even 7-7. Lucie was the Tamworth try-scorer, whilst Izzy converted it successfully.
However the second half showed a different story with Cheltenham North scoring two consecutive tries, one of which was converted, bringing the score to 7-21. Millie then scored a try for Tamworth to bring the score to 12-21. Despite this, it wasn’t meant to be for Tamworth as Cheltenham North went on to score an amalgamation of tries to bring the score to 12-39. The last try of the game was dotted down by Maddie to bring the final score to 17-38.
Dames of the game were Ella for the forwards and Poppy for the backs as Ella was able to act as both a sweeping back and a primary jackler, whilst Poppy had some lengthy and creative runs at centre.
