The Tamworth under 18 girls faced a tough opposition in the form of Kenilworth on Sunday 6th April in an away match. The hot weather and unforgiving ground tested the team’s endurance and the end result of the day was a win. The final score was a convincing 12-27 to Tamworth.
Most of the action for the first half happened within the first minutes of the game with Tamworth scoring almost immediately with a try from Evangeline and Kenilworth doing the same not long afterwards. Further on through the half Lexi also scored and this was marked with a conversion from Izzy. The halftime score was 5-12.
The second half allowed Tamworth to settle into a rhythm and score more tries through driving the opposition slowly back down the pitch, though conceding a try and conversion themselves. Try scorers for the half were Lexi (2), and Maddie.
Dames of the game were Martha for the backs for reading the game well and utilising the gaps in attack, and Isla for her intense work rate in and around the rucks.
