We travelled over to Ashby RUFC to pull on the Ashby shirt for their Leicestershire cup fixture.
It was a game that we started well, although the 1st try went to the visitors. It was a break away try, and after the girls had a chat, they got back to it!
Some excellent line breaks allowed Lillie through to score her 1st of 3 tries.
With Skye on kicking duties, the conversion followed.
Some back and forth followed, with Lutterworth/Harborough strong in the rucks, with our speed letting us down at times.
We went into HT leading, and deservedly so.
With only 17 players available and injuries starting to be picked up, this was always going to be tough, and so the 2nd half proved.
Lutterworth were flying into rucks, and winning that battle. Our girls now tired from our 1st half effort fatigued and picked up injuries.
The game finished with only 3 points in it... tough... but the girls should be proud, even if a little disappointed in letting it slip.
Plenty to improve on...we learn and move on!
